Making Progress....Phase II

We are so excited to be finally getting started on phase II of the wall project. It seems like we have been waiting for awhile. However, due to weather, the town officials needing to survey the land again and needing workers...God's timing has played out just in time. We have many church members who were in need of jobs and we can now help them as they help us. They have started to tear down trees and dig the footing for this long portion of wall. We are so excited to see this started. It looks as though this portion will cost us around $18,500 and we are short almost $3,000 to be able to completely pay for this portion. If you would like to help us you can DONATE HERE and help us finish this debt free. Thank you all for how you always give and help our home. Here is a short clip below.

Our Large Family.............Just..................................

Our large family of 20 just got a little bigger.

Yes, we just added two new girls to our home. THIS means that we are COMPLETELY FULL. Please help us by praying for a couple to surrender to the field. There is such a need here. We know that it will take at least two years before we can have the coupe here on the ground and that is if they were to surrender today. They would need at least a year of deputation and a year of language school.
Below are our two new girls...sisters Alexandra 10 and Escarleth 5.

Chicken Pox care Packages

Waiting upon the Lord......

Back in November my families church Landmark FWB from Cary decided that they would surprise us all with Christmas gifts. It normally takes about 10-12 days to get a package once it has been mailed. We know to be on the look out for it. Well, it had not arrived and we waited and asked at the post office and waited some more. We started to get a little worried. We finally heard from the company that had shipped the box and we got the contact information for the company here. The box was here but we still waited.....got a little more uneasy since the man did not deliver when he was suppose too. However, God's timing is always right on time. We got the package two weeks ago after battling with 16......yes 16 cases of the chicken pox. What a wonderful surprise and blessing it was to get those goodies. It was well worth the wait and even though the kids had no idea it was even coming the were so excited for all of their new treasures. I know that there are many who have sent and do send us packages and we are so thankful and grateful for your giving....not just the items inside but the time it took you to get it and the time and money you used to ship it. We are so THANKFUL and appreciate more than you could know your sacrifices.

Something Old and Something NEW.......:)

Wonder how many of you thought of wedding bells when you read that?  No-one is getting married however....we are keeping our old blog the one you are reading right now. That is the "old" the "NEW" is that we have a brand new web page. We are so excited about this new page. It tells you all about who we are, why we are here, what we are doing, what we need, and how you can help. I am asking that you please take a few moments to visit our new page. We are thankful for all of you and how you pray for us and help us meet our needs. We also wanted a great place for you all to be able to share our ministry with your friends and family. Thank you all.
If you click on the link it will take you right to our page. There are many tabs for you to learn also how to sponsor a child and even meet our children. Have a wonderful day.

It's the worst......

Well, this year has been full of little pink blisters that have invaded the little bodies our kids here. It all started with Karla and Elvin. It then quickly spread to Junior, Kevin, Anthony, Sthefany, Daython, Josiah, Micah, Taylor and Hunter. The first two were the only ones for a week or so and then we were hit with nine cases all at once. That makes for a difficult time getting the jobs around here done....especially since we work together as a family. Then, Mark got a few. Then we started to calm down and everyone was getting better. We had the pleasure of hosting our first work group of the year and everyone seemed well. The day we took the group to the airport we returned to find Kathya and Valeria had been accepted to the chicken pox club. The next day poor Oscar came down with them and yesterday afternoon Jose joined the gang. We still have three Belkis, Carolina and David who have not gotten them yet. However, we are praying that they either get them now or never. It seems like we have gone through quit a few bottles of Tylenol and Ibuprofen and Benadryl. This does not include the 5 or more bottles of calamine lotion that we have gone through. Please pray that we can rid this virus as it is clearly the worst.

Things we do without even THINKING........

There are many things that we do everyday without even thinking. We breathe, we walk in the bathroom and turn on our water and brush our teeth. Maybe clean out our mouth with the a cup of cool water. We do all these things without even thinking of them. Here it is not the same. we have to be careful not to let the past of our carefree living creep in. We can not drink from the tap water. We can not wash off a piece a fruit for breakfast. We must use a water cooler to get all of our drinking, cooking, and washing food water. However, we are happy to say that this should hopefully all change. We had a couple donate a new water filtration system to the home. While Southside group was here Dr. Steve and some of the other young men helped to install it. we have run some bleach through our lines and are just waiting on the test results of the water before we begin to use water straight from the tap. What a huge blessing this will be for us and the future cottages that we build.

Southside Baptist Church Work Group

It is always nice to have friends from home in the states come for a visit. This past week we had Southside Baptist Church with us. They had 15 people in their group and that got so many things accomplished this week. They painted almost the entire house in one day. Mr. Mike also sanded all of the outside doors and stained them to make them look like new. They also worked hard to get some shelves built for Dr. Steve and Ms. Twyla also gave all of our kids physicals. Our kids also had a great time just being able to play and hang out with them. Thank you so much for all of your help. Hope to see you all again soon.
