Something to Be PROUD of......

Last week we started our first year of school here at Esperanza. Not only was it a first for us it was a first for the kids as well. You see the kids had been to school before...but never where it was mostly taught in English. The kids have been working hard since they entered into the home to put English to practice in their daily lives. They are all doing great. So, with the first week of school.....also comes their first quizzes. The 4th graders had a quiz on parts of a plant cell. Here is a picture of the kids with their first quiz. We were all very proud of them and they were proud of themselves.

First Day of School for Esperanza Kids

We started school here on Monday. We have 3 kids in Kinder, 1 in 3rd grade, 4 in 4th grade, 1 in 6th grade and 1 in 8th grade. It was a great first week as the kids enjoyed using their new uniforms and new back-packs. Please pray for them all as it is going to be full, fun and challenging. Mark teaches Bible class everyday and helps out with one on one studies with the kids who need extra help. It has been a great start to a new year.

New Quilts for the Kids

A group of sweet people from Beacon Baptist church and the organization of Mrs. Lorretta Nipper made quilts for all the kids. I meet Mrs. Nipper for the 1st time in person while home for a week in NC. We had been talking back and forth through email and her desire to see the kids have a quilt of their own. Her and her group made one for each child in the home and they were able to pick their own out from the stack.

Thanks to these ladies the kids will always be able to carry a peice of HOPE with them where ever they go. Thank you to all who bought material, supplies, cut squares and sewed squares. They are all beautiful and the kids love them.

THANK YOU LADIES!!!!!!

Whew......19 and holding.............

Okay, so please forgive for not writing sooner....but we have been super busy with preparation for our new adjustments.  I spent a week in the states for my baby sisters wedding. Micah and I had the opportunity to hang out with some family, friends and friends that support our ministry. It was awesome to be able to sit face-to-face and tell them all about what the Lord is doing here.

Well, in case you have not heard we have 19 people in the house as of right now....so we are 19 and holding. We are currently aring for 12 Honduras children plus our own 4.  The ages for all the kids in the home right now are as follows: 16, 14, 13, 13, 11, 10, 9, 9, 8, 7, 6, 4, 3, 15 months, 8 weeks and 8 weeks. Yes, we have a set of 8 week old twin boys in the house. Here below is a picture of our new family.

Please be in prayers as these 6 new kids adjust to our family.  We are also in need of sponsors for the new six kids as it does cost to take care of children.
